Remember when
we thought
the earth
was flat?
Remember when
we thought
the natives
were savages
and we were
a peaceful people
When we believed
that we brought
the will and
the word of God
to a land
we believed
had none
Remember when
we thought
that people who think
were heretics
and those who didn't
were to naive
When we believed
that we
waged war
in the name
of peace
Remember when
we thought
we could fly
When we believed
we could defy
the laws of physics
and we thought
we couldn't fall
Remember when
we told ourselves
that the fruit
was good
and God
was wrong
and paradise
was just
not enough
Do you remember
when we thought
that God died
and when we believed
God was dead
When we believed
what we thought
and we thought
that we believed
Most important
after all
Do you remember
when we were wrong?

Thought provoking
Deep stuff you have penned here. Truth is a moving target and it onus is on us to ask the questions and question the answers, and admit when we are wrong with the understanding that this is how we evolve to be all that we can be. Solid write!
