Beauty is My Beast

Missing image
don't hate me because I'm beautiful
I know that everybody does
I can't help it if I've been blessed
by the powers from high above

my pristine skin
silky, luxurious hair
full supple lips
and boobs out to there

don't hate me because I'm beautiful
though most women do
how would you feel
if every man wanted you?

all they do is stare
though them I cannot blame
every time I go anywhere
the reaction is still the same

don't hate me because I'm beautiful
just because I have a tiny ass
every woman is so jealous of me
because they're no where near my class

Author notes

pausing to wipe up the sarcasm that dripped all over my keyboard.  This is a compilation of a few people in Lycos (one, who cannot go five minutes without mentioning her beauty, or mentioning how guys tell her how gorgeous she is.)  As the saying goes: She ain't pretty, she just looks that way

This is so funny! It's even funnier knowing that I used to have a friend who thought the whole world hated her because she was beautiful! She was indeed very attractive, but boy not a people person! I'm quite laid back, maybe even horizontal at times and so I could see past this thing she presented to others and value the person who was behind it. She was talented and loyal, witty and such good company when she let her guard down. I haven't seen her for a long time as our lives moved on, but I often think of her and hope her guard has been down long enough for her to gain friends and for others to get a glimpse of who she really is. Loved the line
'every woman is so jealous of me
because they're no where near my class'
But to her it was the same with men. If they had even the slightest physical flaw.
Well written and brave in putting a point of view forwards that is not always recieved well.

lol, nice poem, this reminds me of something my sister did the other day: we were talking about people with self esteem problems and she said she also had some (which is unbelievable if you know my sister) neway, so i asked her what and she said that sometimes she thinks that people don't like her because she is so incredibly smart. definitely a bad self esteem wouldn't you say?

now to stop the rambling, excellent poem, great rhyme, I love rhyme.

    keep it up

Some will have to tell you with great frequency,
It’s just so they remember they are better than what they see…

    groovy chickie

    hi, my name is amber and i'm a totally hot 5'9" - 112-lb - blonde-haired - green-eyed - 38DD babe

HAHAHAHHAHA i can totally relate to your poem...no not cuz i think i'm beautiful *gag*, but because i spend just as much time as you do in that God-forsaken land where people's bust and or penis sizes often rival their IQ's

what was that saying? beauty may be only skin deep, but ugly goes to the bone! LOL

I know,I know! I spend far too much time in the cyber world! But, to be sane, I only go there after my kids are in bed for the night, and after I've done that evil housework....so I rarely get there before 10:30 pm.

When chatters list their attributes, I usually add on "you forgot to mention your modesty"

Besides, what good is reality if you can't laugh at it every once in a while. (although, chat rooms are anything "BUT" reality!)

I love this!!!!! Glad you're able to tear yourself from lycos long enough to grace us with your presence and wonderful poetry from time to time!!! LOL...I know of the people you speak about in this piece, you just wish you could put your hands thru the screen and throttle them!!! ..and of course they ALWAYS have to say they're a 38DD or whatever (I have no idea what those numbers are and never will..no, I'm not jealous at all LOL)... loved this piece, can always count on you for a good laugh at reality!!

    Always liked Minnie Pearl!

Yes, I meant it to be totally tongue-in-cheek. Arrogance and narcissism are rather unattractive traits. Like I mentioned in the authors comments, "She ain't pretty, she just looks that way." Or, to borrow another line from the same song (She Ain't Pretty by The Northern Pikes) "Her ego wrote checks incredibly fast, but her personality didn't have the cash."

I love your poem Barbara. Sometimes and I think this is how you meant your poem to be read--to many people think that they are beautiful, which makes them rather ugly. A lot of the time they would really be beautiful if they just didn't act so smug about it--I have never met a conceited person yet that I thought was beautiful no matter what she actually looked like. Speaking of beauty Minnie Pearl (one of our southern country music comedians or at least she was until she died a couple os years ago) told of being on a train and two men were sitting nearby. They began teasing her. Finally she said, "Beauty is only skin deep." She said that the one that was teasing her most looked at his friend and said, "Let's skin her." That is the way I feel about some that are conceited and think they are beautiful--Maybe they are beautiful underneath all that conceit.
Like I said I love your poem, but I just felt that I had to tell you that little story.

no one is perfect, everyone can vouch for that. but its a nice change in scenery compared to the dark and gloom that seem to be consuming everyone!

    thanks!

This is NOT about me, for modesty prevents me from saying how gorgeous I truly am (ya can stop laughing any time now)....Nope, not about me...I look like hell most days (got toddlers, so I don't have TIME to throw makeup on, or do the hair, or any other things of that nature)
