Hold tightly to the light of day
and know the worth of now
this time will pass so quickly
it must leave you anyhow.
So hold on tight and see the light
as the moments trickle past
to see the day for what it's worth
and make those moments last.
Don't wish for time to pass you by
it will soon enough be gone
cling tightly to those memories
upon which love has shone.

keep them safely stored away
for the days there are no more.

I like this Poet, but would that last rhyme of the last stanza be better as 'upon which love has drawn.' The gone and shone, though spelled the same make for a rough transition audibly. I see that the idea is of light, but ...just a suggestion. Overall this is well done. Good luck with the contest here. Peace, Rhonda
