Goddess Bast

Missing image

Oh, Goddess Bast
You give strength to the independent woman
helping to develop their many sides

You are the Goddess of………

Sensuality
    Sexuality
            Fertility

You are the divine feline
Teach me to dance to your feminine music
finding my truth in the steps
Creating the power I need to maintain
stability and grace within my being
Guide me in my full womanhood

Oh Goddess, this I ask of you

A wonderful prayer truly fitting to this Goddess. I have seen a beautiful cat the same colour as the dress the Goddess has on in this picture and I do feel She is with me. This is well penned. I liked your prayer. Thank you for your participation in my maiden contest.

    Blessed be,
    Charishma

What a beautiful description of this Egyptian Goddess!

I myself am a big fan of Bast. Perhaps it is my love of Kittens and Cats? Anyways this is definately a wonderful description of Bast.

These lines I found most descriptive:
    "Oh, Goddess Bast
You give strength to the independent woman
helping to develop their many sides

    You are the Goddess of………

    Sensuality
    Sexuality
    Fertility"

But the whole poem is very honoring.

This is a wonderful tribute to the Cat Goddess. Very well done, direct and to the point as if a prayer. Interesting selection as she was one of the older goddesses, mentioned in the Book of the Dead. Defiantly feminine as her name has the hieroglyph of a 'bas'-jar with the feminine ending of 't'. Well done!

    Love,
    Amera
