You probably got
Expensive things
All the chocolate you wished for
But in the end
I believe
I was given so much more
I went with
My family
On a nice long drive
Up a mountain
And in some towns
Is where we did arrive
I am not sure
If you could say,
We are a family
Because this year
It was just
My dad and I, you see
For the weekend
Traditionally
My brother went away,
But that's alright
It wasn't bad
And I still had a great day
Just because
I didn't get
Quite as much as you got
That does not mean
Your day was better,
Because mine meant a lot!
I didn't get
Material things
Though that didn't matter
Because I learnt
Easters joy
Its perfect holiday platter
Easter is
More than gifts
It's showing that you care
It's spending time
With whom you love
And just being there.

*you might think you have had a good easter because your parents and family showed they cared by giving you heaps of chocolate and perhaps other presents. but at the end of the day i can see that although i didnt pysically get anything today, i had a GREAT easter. today my eyes were opened, and i saw the truth of easter, and thats its not just a religious holiday, but its time of the year to show friends and family you love them. but i wonder how many were able to prove this without following the crown and buying things.*

well this was about my easter today. i might not have gotten easter eggs today, and u might consider me less fortunate, but i KNOW i am far more fortunate than alot of people because i learnt the truth of easter and that its not just about recieving things. its about giving love, and proving its real...

I had a sucky easter.I slept all day But you seem to have had a good won.It was simply but it seems to have meant a lot and no that doesnt make you less fortunate it you suspected it to be better or anything else.You seemed to have really appreciated it.

i think this is a very realistic view at easter. i don't celebrate easter but i could feel the love of easter after reading this. great structure and format. nice piece. keep it real and take care of yourself.

I think this is wonderful. You had such a full and rich Easter. You're so right, It's about giving love and not about buying things for other people. You are a wonderful example of how this holiday should be spent and I am so glad it ended like this for you.

i know it wasnt my best right the rhyme was forced in some places and it didnt flow as well as i hoped but i DID get the point across so tis betetr than nothing. i am sure my next poem will be better...

sweet nice easter, but not everyone get things. i feel the same way about buying stuff. but then again, why dont people show love everryday? nice poem, alittle forced some times but other than that it was sweet and sounds like you had a good time

this one sort of had a forced rhyme about it, and probably woudl of sounded better free verse, but oh well lol
