Windows Down

Despite the awful surety of youth,
And boldly held beliefs we hold as law.
Pain does in fact reduce it's awful hold,
Refuse this all you like, it still holds true.

Time takes a cloth and holds it in its hand,
Polishes corners, softens stones to sand.
It clears the windows view for all to see,
If you, in all your wisdom, care to look.

I feel him still, my heart reserved his seat,
His name still crosses lips at certain times.
It doesn't scorch my soul like it once did,
But causes me to look up at the sky.

With windows down, the air he breaths blows in.
The sun envelopes both of us in warmth.
I may not see his face or hear his voice,
But while he shares my earth I will rejoice.

This is good. I feel it can be interpreted many ways. Good poetry does that. It can be related to by many people for different things. Nicely done. Good job. Thanks for entering. Good luck.

I love it. The way you used the title was brilliant. REminds me of quite a few things. First and foremost, KT Tunstall's song other side of the world. Nice work.
