Lord of love
In love I pray
For my son
Please, this sickness send away.
His breathing is hard
His pain lingers long.
His eyes plead for relief
And I do not feel strong.
Not strong enough
To cope
With this helplessness.
Lord, give us hope
In our distress.
My heart pleads
In love, in anguish
For my son, my son.
But now I must concede
That he is yours, your precious one.
Lord, in your mercy
Grant him relief
Strengthen his heart
And mine
To endure, to wait, to believe.
Give us grace, Lord
To know You are close
Measuring the pain,
Grieving the affliction
Planning the end
Of all sicknesses that lay us low.
Evil indeed, yet
By your grace
A gift of time
To seek your face.
I am with my son
With him in love
And you are also here
Deep within
And gently above.
In love I pray
For my son
Please, this sickness send away.
His breathing is hard
His pain lingers long.
His eyes plead for relief
And I do not feel strong.
Not strong enough
To cope
With this helplessness.
Lord, give us hope
In our distress.
My heart pleads
In love, in anguish
For my son, my son.
But now I must concede
That he is yours, your precious one.
Lord, in your mercy
Grant him relief
Strengthen his heart
And mine
To endure, to wait, to believe.
Give us grace, Lord
To know You are close
Measuring the pain,
Grieving the affliction
Planning the end
Of all sicknesses that lay us low.
Evil indeed, yet
By your grace
A gift of time
To seek your face.
I am with my son
With him in love
And you are also here
Deep within
And gently above.
Author notes
My son has been sick for somes days, with an illness that should run its course and respond to medicine and rest. But the pain and discomfort is keeping him up, it's hard to sleep. It's hard seeing and hearing your child suffer, and to feel so helpless. How precious to have the Lord close, in perfect love, and to seek his help and mercy, and to commit my son to him.

Hello, I am so glad to hear he is better now. Praise be to Jesus!! I so believe in the power of prayer. God does hear and works His miracles. Since losing my own son last month I know how worried you must have been. So glad you had your faith . It is what gives me strength today. God Bless you and your family. Take care, Sandy

A beautiful and heartfelt prayer. A mothers love shows more so in prayer than in any other way. I join you in your prayer. Thank you for entering the contest.

Thanks be to God, he is better now. We had to travel and were concerned how he would go, but he slept part of the way and managed the trip very well - it took 3 hours! How humble and thankful we are, to the Father of great grace and love. Thank you for helping with your prayers too.
