What curious thing the human race
who frantic- rush through life to find
true happiness
Yet trust too real a thing to place
in hollow dreams that soon shall prove
their emptiness
How wrong the eye beholds this world
to fancy it is nothing more
than physical
This globe through heaven’s spaces hurled
a fragile cardboard ball- for truth
is spiritual
Just outside the fringe of sight’s control
lie realms more real than we can know
-beyond the veil
So weak the ties that bind our souls
to this flimsy paper planet
soon shall fail
And ceasing altogether in resistance
-melt like cardboard in the rain-
-wet links of origami chain-
-opening our eyes again-
to the truth of our existence

Very, VERY nice! A universal truth beautifully stated here in timeless poetic words. I liked everything about this poem, and I can find nothing that needs to be altered. It is perfect. The origami anology is amazing. I can picture the metaphor in my minds eye. Another great poem!

Very good meaning!
I like your poems! They are all very true! This on is one that makes you think! I happen ito agree with you! The world does not have no values these days! Dont they understand there is more to life than what you can see!

Excellent !!
I love the time-honoured style to this piece. It reads like something from the 18th century .. 'Keats' comes to mind .. BUT with a contemporary twist to it .. The flow and scheme is excellent ! .. Great stuff !!
