Only A Dream

The music fades, and darkness surrounds,
as magic courses through my veins.

A world appears, I know alone,
of magic, hope, and true love.

I look around, and then I smile,
for I’ve spied your shining eyes.

You take my hand, and lead me away,
on a journey I wish to never end.

Laughter and love, drifts upon the stars,
as our wanderings lead us far.

A dragon cry, a phoenix song,
whispers on the wind.

The sun soon dies, and we travel on,
while the silver moon is born.

You suddenly stop, at the edge of a forest,
and you look into my eyes.

A sudden shame, and I look away,
there’s no reason for you to care for me.

A touch on my cheek, into your eyes I look,

I closed my eyes, and cling to your neck,
for exhaustion finally takes me.

Stopping my fall, you set me upon the ground,
taking a seat beside to me.

I lean onto you, my head on your shoulder,
while I listen to your steady breaths.

Your hand on my chin, tilts my head back,
bringing my gaze into yours.

I then understand, what is now to come,
and again lower my eyelids.

Your lips touched mine, as time did stop,
leaving us where we sat.

But all too soon, it came again,
as our lips slowly separated.

Then from far away, I hear a song,
of love songs for the cunning.

My vision is fading, you’re nearly gone,
and the tears run down my face.

The voices from Fall Out Boy, fills my ears,
flowing smoothly with the music.

Removing my earphone, I rub away a tear,
while staring at my glowing clock.

“Only a dream”, I whisper sadly,
“It’s only a dream and nothing more.”
