Because It's Right, a brighter light...

Missing image
You are more
than blowing leaf,

for wind did find you still alive,

as whisper of a darker child
to cling to smile
in western halo.

We are artists
finding word to touch in Nature,
as soul to call,

with waves to follow wild in motion
as cannonfire
to echo in silence,
our war as over.

Sing with drum, as dream,
of distant warrior,
waving spear to crack on knee,

calling his children
home for supper
where every laugh is poem beginning.

For there is night,

when cry is river
so bewildered
to bend in sorrow,
aching for a better reason.

How could our young
be cursed with nothing
to crave in life
that which we promised!...

when smile is close,
and embrace is often,

to laugh in story
told as legend.

Bono braves this fight to call,
and Gates has joined
his soul to offer,

still we are hurt
inside this saga,

when compassion passes
to terror calling,
as fear to fly without his mercy.

So Chez has gone
where we will not,

and what she knows
is what we yearn for,

to give a little comfort, closer,

as Tomorrow's star,
when place is right,
so hope might live

in brighter light.

Author notes

song..."We Are The World"...

Chez is cannonsfire here on AP...and she is in Botswana, Africa doing what she can ...touched by Bono and his cause to stamp out hunger in ten years...

How someone can inflick this upon a child

and do what they do to their children is more than one can understand.God bless the little angels that have gone this way. This is a crime of all crimes babies who don't even know what is going on and don't understand why they are sick or that they are sick. makes one shiver in fear of what people think this maked them nothing lower than a dirty animals.

    Beautiful tribute

To the light of her spirit that shines bright enough to help even blind to see truths best to heed in silence.

    Wonder writing of grace.

I have cried tears today for a child in sorrow but I now shed them for you dear friend, in joy...what can I say to this? Words seem so pale in the face of this piece, I am so touched by this perfection and the heart you show in compassion for what I do. It makes this sad heart a little lighter and this teary face a bit brighter to read these words. I have no more I can give to this cause than myself, not a millionaire, but if I get one smile from a tiny face here I have more than all the money in the world could buy...I have love. Love, Chez

This is beautiful, Rich. Your words have touched many hearts over time, my dear Friend; your compassion has repeatedly turned the tides of grief. I know Chez was deeply moved by your gift of caring, dear Scribe. This is a wonderful testament to the woman she is...& to the man you are. Good luck in Lynda's contest, Sweetie.
