Chivalry

Hail thee, a lover's fairytale

Drifting on the wings of heaven

I gaze through our yesterdays

It seems I was just eleven

A dream of perfect certainty

I could hear two lyrebirds singing

On rooted shores, in silent spring

Dawn's fever dew slept weeping

Search no more, I'm returning soon

Woe in rivers and lakes fall free

A gentle breeze calls out my name

Whispers a gallant knight through thee

Beaded as one, upon sunrise

Towers risings in waxen wings

Moon waning, forever raining

Moon tides reflecting all love brings

A chalice full of memories

Light dance upon forgiving mead

Of hopeful dreams filling the sky

A knight upon his gallant steed

Whispers appearing through the wind

I love thee tenderly my dear

Attentive on your flaxen brow

I cherish you with heart sincere

Your songs pillow those rigid roads

And when you see a trace of me

I’ve left behind the greatest part

But I shall return my lady

Very pretty. Was quite beautiful and felt as if reading a poem of the old, a tale, legend of love and romance. I greatly enjoyed this and was particularily struck by this line "Dawn's fever dew slept weeping". I am still amazed by it. Just WOW.
Nicely done, thank you for sharing this.
Best wishes to you and yours.

While My Guitar Gently Weeps is one of my favorite Beatles' songs. The birth of this song must have been among the strangest of the Beatles' compositions. Inspired by the I Ching Harrison said to have began composing chosing the first words upon randomly opening a book. These words were gently weeps. There is also disagreement about who played the solo in the song; some say it is Harrison, others say it was Clapton. Perhaps a similar process preceded the writing of this poem. The words could fit the tune well. I enjoyed being on this page to read the fruit of your minds! Thank you for creating and good luck in the contest. Take care, my friends,

    Chris

      Thanks

I know brother Chris when you look into something, you take much wisdom on any given topic and can relate much to all forms of love...and the love of music, and the inspiration it brings sings through our very soul. A way to express our inner most feelings and emotions, though we are limited as humans, we try to sing from the heart or strum through those guitar strings. We appreciate you, you're awesome poetry touches us always as well. Much love, Timothy aka poeticweaver~ and the lovely Sharon Corr!
