Breath is beast
to blush in beauty
when morning rings, as bell suspended,
in slivered gasp of love, escaping,
with elusive flutter
in foreign tongue.
Word is power to pulse,
feeding mind as blood
to burst invasive thought
in freshened lips,
too loose to last,
for touch is more
than heart can bare
in warmer breath
of Winter's fable.
Give me leave of such a reason,
why game is played
inviting treason to sever song,
and sigh in season,
this windy wish of leaves on carpet,
soaring sky
to find in journey,
starting blind,
as puzzle scattered
in mosaic tiles to form as pattern,
silver promises,
not meant to keep;
save one,
that death is not another color,
as leaves are fragile rafts,
to feather floating vessels
of Summer's sanctuary,
where moment seemed
to want to linger
longer than your kiss
of betrayal.

As I finallt finish this contst I just wanted you to know how much I love this poem and its subtle twists! Also, a big fan of word play and illiteration, so this obviously had my eye from the beginning1 You did a fabulous job with this poem, and really nailed what I was asking for! This is so fabulous!

beautifully done
Such beauty within the darkness....
"as leaves are fragile rafts,
to feather floating vessels
of Summer's sanctuary,
where moment seemed
to want to linger
longer than your kiss
of betrayal."
Another amazing poem from you, my friend....
