"Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice."
-Robert Frost, "Fire and Ice"
This
Is
How
His
World
Ends
Some say the world will end in fire,
columns of smoke towering high,
screams of the multitudes reach the night,
while fire and brimstone rain from the sky.
Some say the world will end in ice,
watery lakes and glaciers surround,
the visages of countless fish pressed against the surface,
while all die alone, frozen to the ground.
But as for him, the rest is naught
but trifling ways to bitter end,
for his world crumbles 'fore his eyes,
and only she his world could mend.
Not one structure has been toppled
nor firey columns of death compel
the world to meet its final doom;
when she left, his whole world fell.
You see, he travels through a world of lost cause,
dark shadows, rot, decay,
encircle his crestfallen countenance;
she left, and he was left in cold dismay.
This
Is
How
His
World
Ends
And to posess his pain
Ceaseless time of unrequited love,
his world ended when she left,
all he can do is look above.
Hope is his only light
that he protects and nurtures so,
for what is he without his hope?
Naught! Naught but falling down below!
Thus he carrys on his yoke
of love he knows he'll never own.
He'll pick up the pieces of his broken world,
and perhaps reap the seeds he'd long ago sewn.
They'll pull his strings, he'll grit his teeth,
and find another love to lift
his spirit to the dragon's wings!
He'll regain the ancient gift!
He won't drown in lost despair,
won't run away, alone, bereft.
He'll carry on, despite the fact that
his world ended when she left.
This
Is
How
His
World
Ends

Author notes
This has NOTHING to do with me, absolutely NOTHING, trust me! Don't worry my friends, I'm fine. This is just a random poem that shot into my head after listening to The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus. So relax, friends. Thanks to my favorite poet Robert Frost for the introductory thingy. Tootles! (good lord it's been awhile since I said that word) Bye!
