~Never Again...

Missing image
Never again will your hands harm me,
I shed no more tears for you this day.
For today is new…

Brushing my hair today,
I smiled at myself for the first time,
the healing has begun.

I fill my memories only with happiness,
a longing to go on.  Surviving the storms
that lie ahead.
I no longer fear the dread…

Painted hues of pinks and reds fill my room,
a soft bouquet.  Lace curtains adorn windows.
Scented flowers below drift in as the breeze
blows in.

My fingers linger on the piano keys.
Touching the ivory, I begin to play a
hushed melody.

Soft humming I hear as my voice joins in,
a smile upon my face.  The healing has
begun.

Never again to feel the pleasure of your pain!

Italian translation~~

~Never ancora...

Non voglia mai ancora le vostre mani lo nuoc, io non si liberano di
rotture per questo giorno. Per l'oggi è nuovo...

Spazzolando i miei capelli oggi, ho sorriso per la prima volta
me, healing ho cominciato.

very strongly emotive piece in that one can sense the deep sadness not expressed. I like the approach of the soft imagery to enhance the phrase "the healing has begun". spoken with an open soul and a strong voice, great write my friend.

You sumed up this poem perfecty. The abuse in which so many face is not right, but the strength it takes to start over and walk away is very inspiring. I wish no one had to deal with this, but there are men out there who are real pieces of crap who do hit and abuse women for no reason at all.

I hope that others who read this piece can draw strength from it and really start a new life without fear...

    Wonderful

I really like the thoughts here. Such a wonderful feeling to begin healing. I'm still healing in a manner of sorts myself, so I understand this very well.

You came to visit me so I thought I would come to your house. I’m so glad I did. You are remarkably talented! The flow of this poem is so fluid it’s like honey but the image makes it bitter sweet. I am awed at your courage and the poem made me fight the tears back. May the Lord bless you and protect you forever more.

    Love,
    Amera

    Dear Sie,
We all as brother's and sisters fought our own battles with our father, then you with your ex. I am sorry it has caused you so much pain. Your heart rings so true with all the passion and love you have in this poem. I see a light after three long and hard years. Know this, I love you!

Awesome opening line, followed by a brillant poem and powerful ending. I love this gorgeous piece. Very inspiring and uplifting. Relative to many peoples views on some relationship. This poem shows true power of ones on free-will and you did it so well.

    Goodluck in the contest.

This is beautiful, and I'm proud of you for coming through this. It shows a lot of emotion, and I love how it describes everything beautiful you overlook when you are heartbroken, but never notice 'til your healing. This is a powerfully beautiful poem, one you should be proud of!!

Wow. A powerful poem about the survival of a tornado, not just the eye but the outright end, about living through the pain, about living. Amazing is its ability to reah out and capture my heart. You could never understand why I love this poem so much but I will tell you outright that it is not because I've been physically abused, I haven't. I just can immagine what its like. Anyway, your poem is indescribable.

Recovery begins when you make yourself important again. You have. Recovery begins when you can see yourself worthy of the Light and know that you love yourself. You have. The words are soft pastels and the images like colors of the rainbow. It takes strength to be tender and a strong heart to be gentle. You obviously have begun.
    Love, Tom B.
