Safely sleeping among death
Inhaling, exhaling, steady breath.
The silk of her robe harsh in
Contrast with her angelic skin.
Unaware of her surroundings,
As most angels are.
Our screaming in her ears
Seem to come from afar.
Yawning indignantly at the tree bark
From somewhere on high she hears a "Hark!"
Instead of rubbing the sleep from her eyes
She lays back down and ignores the skies.
Unaware of her surroundings,
Spiteful, full of conceit.
This is an angel I've been
Unfortunate enough to meet.
The flowers unworthy of her care
Wither and die, leaving the ground bare.
The shrubs, trees, all die.
Become a bed for the angel to lie.
Unaware of her surroundings,
The angel forgets God's word
And takes another swig
From it's cactus juice ghourd.

Also Beautiful
This poem is also so beautiful. This is my favorite. It sounds like you've been through something very sad...but then again who hasn't?This is a great write with a lot of emotion. Keep this up!

I agree with the comment below, it would be a shame to meet an angel like this! Thanks for the entry, good luck and take care x

No angel here but I love the verse
What a curse to find such a hard hearted, insular soul, no angel!
haha, good poem. Scary!

Ahhh but there is an angel. I know there's an angel because the poem is about one. Yes, I do believe I see it.

Very well done. I like the dark spin on this. I can relate to and respect dark writes, I am rather fond of them. This makes you think. Thanks for entering!
