The Fall

For all the life that I have lost in pursuit of you
For all the pain that you have caused, things you can't undo
I'll rise above this cold satisfaction
Gauging my future from your reaction
What about the pain?
The stars that fall from the sky
So graceful as they die
So grateful to finally die
To end this life

We were stars together, burning in a midnight sky
But now as I burn out the ones around me smile
Crooked faces, beams of light they throw
Upon my darkened throne
As I fall from grace
I remember your smile

Don't even try to catch me, I know how it will end
I will slip right through your fingers,
through the gaps that you won't mend
You leave open for our love to fall
Can't keep it alive through it all
What about my life?
Forget me, it shouldn't be hard for you
Nurturing a hate for me
The glances you create for me
Show you already do

We were stars together, burning in a midnight sky
But now as I burn out the ones around me smile
Crooked faces, beams of light they throw
Upon my darkened throne
As I fall from grace
I remember your smile

Bridge:
You smiled, you laughed, you watched me fall
Through the blood I saw you happy
So cover me in a mask of red
That whips around me as I scream
Plunging to my death
But I'm already dead
I'm already dead

It's sad how you've forgotten, it's sad how you don't care
But since I'm dead I cannot feel, no hate left to bear
The hate you're growing every day
Is just poison ivy on my grave
Doesn't hurt me at all
Just a star once in the sky
You won't hear me calling
I'm so far past falling
I've already fallen
You missed the fall

Author notes

I've actually chorded this song on the guitar, but I was too lazy to put all the chords in there. This is one of my favorite songs I've written, I hope you like it too!

    Wow, a song too. Spiffy.

'We were stars together, burning in a midnight sky' I can just feel the love oozing out of this line, it has caught my eye every time I've read this. Then there's:
'You smiled, you laughed, you watched me fall
Through the blood I saw you happy'
And the betrayal I feel from this line is just overcoming. This line:
'It's sad how you've forgotten, it's sad how you don't care'
I can really relate to. It's exactly how I felt when my best friend from elementary school was ignoring me. I would sit next to him, talk to him, poke him, no matter what I did he acted like I wasn't there.
    'I'm so far past falling
    I've already fallen'
The defeated attitude I feel here is, is, is...

    Awesome write.

    Love it!

I can't believe you haven't gotten any comments on this yet.
I seriously love this. It's awesome--I can completely imagine what it would be like as a song...
The emotion's awesome, it's so deep, and the flow is definitely there. And what's more, it's a very 'song-capable' sort of flow. The word usage is amazing. Very effective use of repetition, and nice rhyming too!

"Through the blood I saw you happy
So cover me in a mask of red
That whips around me as I scream"

Those lines had to have been my favorites. They're those lines, you know, that somehow send shivers down your back as you read them, just from that total perfection.

This is being bookmarked. Awesome job!
