~I Wrote to You~

I wrote to you
with feathered feelings
and softly lit sighs.

Spending these quiet moments
with quill and spilt ink;
memory stains
precisely placed on parchment,
from the sanctuary of my soul.
Each letter of love,

conceived in creativity,

poised in passion
and born to poetry.

I wrote to you
with flames of forever
and hushes of Heaven.

Each poignant page

embracing

engraved emotions
and drafted daydreams,
drawn from the depths
of my being;
laced and bound
into this book
of borrowed wisdom
and rosebud whispers.

I wrote to you

with wishes and promises,
and a poet’s prayers.

Author notes

What will happen is that I want you to be inspired by this phrase:
"...As written by candlelight"
OR
"From this spilt ink, words are born..."
OR
"Of these scripted parchments, ink was strewn"

I was inspired by each of the phrases and they're all interpreted into this piece.

I loved the phrasing in this piece... it added so much to the feeling of it and the topic. I thought the final stanza was the most powerful about the topic I've read in the poem. Great job.

    Poetic Poetry

Wonderfully done over here, I loved the first, third and the last stanza...yes, the repetetion there is quite amazing, looks like writing a letter, or a poetic letter?

Reading about this I thought, 'a poet has his own world, he fills each letter with his own heart. But those greedy postmen, steal it beneath the seal...'

This is a beautiful poem Lori. I read it earlier in the Paragon contest but did not have time to comment. You have such a gift for alliteration. Although every line was perfect I was especially entranced by "flames of forever and hushes of Heaven." I look forward to reading each of your poems. Peace, Liz

some where there is a man sighing over each word and praying that he can be honorable enough to receive each one fully. Somewhere the ripple of the words across the soul land on a spirits shore and change that heart forever.
    Beautiful job.
