Sitting down confused as hell
your excuses
pressing against my lips.
Trapped in the proverbial dog house.
Feeling like I have soiled hands,
a knife sticking from your back.
"did I do that?"
What rule did I break
to push the metal
breaking softly through your skin.
Would you believe
that I didn't understand.
Like a child eating pretty colored candies
from a hard to open bottle.
Explain to me the hazards
of what I've done,
My stomach pumped
vomiting apologies.

I've been in that situation.
The "What the heck did I even do that I'm apologizing for?" situation. I liked your comparison of not understanding to a child eating candies from a hard to open bottle. If you had known whatever it was would cause this, you wouldn't have done it in the first place.
