As years go marching
with no band, fanfare or pomp,
treading silently swift past my life,
all the experience, history, adventure
I need is right by my side.
Your every look, word and deed
send wedges of care into my soul
opening cavernous fissures
for you to seep into.
Every fiery sunset finds you
a little more inundated into me.
Here I wait, by your side,
happily dissolving in the totality of us.

HP Lovecraft would have expected more of you I feel or else it would not have been so eldritch. Or whatever................................................

Fascinating! This is a different direction to go with the prompt. Interesting and intriguing. Your word usage is wonderfully done. The flow of this piece is smooth and mellow. Fantastic work! Thanks for your entry!

My Friend, My Brother ....
... I love the verbage you use!
The closing line, "Here I wait, by your side,
happily dissolving in the totality of us", is profound in how you use the word 'totality', which is one of my favorite words.
Great piece.
