Why God says "No, No"!

The Bible says No
Society says "So?"
Our minds say Yes, Do it

But think about this
Why is it Sinful?
Is it just because God says "No, No"?
Or is it because it is Harmful?
I tend to think Harmful
God says "No, No" just because of it being Harmful
But how can Sex before marriage be harmful?

Sex is not just for pleasure, or fun
It is to show ones true feelings and to reproduce
To have sex out of marriage is harmful
But how so?
To have sex out of marriage is to take away the ability to love
But how can it prevent one from loving?
To fall in Love after having sex out of marriage is hard, and painful
But how do I know?
I don't know I can only assume,

I look at it like this,
I have never been married, but I hope to some day
How can I truly show my wife I love her?
If I have had sex out of marriage then I can't use it
but why, you ask?
Simple it is no longer something special to give
If I were to save it, it is then one special thing I could give a future wife
I now think I know why God says "No, No"

As for why our minds tempt us, I am not sure
I can only assume to help us learn
Also to attract us to our special someone
To learn to control our selves no matter what
But why must we learn that control?
Simple even after marriage we are still tempted
Tempted to commit adultery
But if we have controlled our selves to save it for marriage
We can Stare
The Temptation to commit adultery
In the face
and not fall
This all is why God says "No, No"

I can only hope that when I marry, my wife will understand...
That I love her more then anything even though I can't show it
I can only hope that after I marry
I can stand strong in the face of temptation
Temptation which will be stronger then what I have lost to in battle

God says "No, No" for many reasons, and because he knows what is good for us
So as for sex before marriage, God says "No, No" but why?
It is because if we follow his teachings and his word we will never fail!

Author notes

Note to judge:
Rather then put "I'm a Jesus-freak" in here
I will just State that I am a believer and that I have been saved.

I agree with ya. You wrote a good poem. Sometimes God says "No", to us so sometimes our prayer is answered or it is not answered. Sometimes God says "Yes", or "No", to us. So we need not to get upset at him. God do test our faith, and that is okay. God is still good.

God says no to fornication because our bodies are temples and we should not defile them. Don't confuse sex with love or the ebb of marriage. Many have sex just because they lust, and that is reason enough for them...to fulfill their desires. God says no because when we lie down with someone we are exchanging spirits. Who is to say that the spirit you lay with is right for you. Your poem invokes a lot of thought. My feeling are that God does tries to sway us from harm because He loves us. I wish you well in this contest.

That's fine, just all along as your saved! I agree with you 100%! At first I thought you were like, all for the "sex before marriage" thing but after I read it, I understand what you were saying. I pray God keeps you strong in your battle to not have sbm(sex before marriage) so that you can bring honor and glory to Him and to truly show your wife you love her. God bless you!

Praise the Lord, brother T51! I can only applaud your statements here! But I think you need to remember that the main aim of sex is procreation, not pleasure! God introduced the feeling of pleasure so that men and women would WANT to do it, but the objective is procreation, continuing the race, and bringing more humans into the workd to sin the Lord's praises! If God had not introduced pleasure into the equation, no one would want to do these filthy things!

    good ideas

there are a lot of good ideas here, such as saving sex for marriage. The Bible says No
Society says its OK.. i would change to society says "so?" you don't have to include that you have sinned before, because it is extra information and it adds less credibility to the argument in the poem. it's not oour bodies that tempt us, but the mind, because the mind utters words and words -->action.
