Suicide is worth it

Dark is Good

A slip of the lip can sink a ship
but what if it's full of Nazis?

A slit of the wrist may hurt like crap,
but what if the blood is saved
and donated to the Red Cross?

A break of the neck in a circle of twine
may be sad, but what if it makes someone want
to save people's lives?
And they go on to work at the Suicide Hotline?

A wearing of black in summer may be dumb,
But what if it infulences someone to write a poem
getting them money
paying for college
so they can be a psychologist, saving the same folk?

A suicide en masse may be a horrendous thing to occur,
but think of all the food it saves
one step nearer
to solving world hunger.

A massacre is evil, even with good intentions
but what if the victims
would have killed thousands more?

A terrorist is awful
but what if he saves a nation from its own ignorance?

This poem is very interesting. You took all the questions of negative things in life, and answered them with a positive answer. I really enjoyed it. It is very good! Thank you for entering, and best of luck to you.
    xx Julie.

    Powerful thoughts!

You have posed some very difficult questions and none of them have an easy answer. No need to worry about offending anyone, all ideas are welcome in my house, just be able to back them up with facts or conviction. This is my favorite line: "A break of the neck in a circle of twine" I really enjoyed your alliteration and the image this conjures in my cranium! Well done!

Quite a dark and funny write. I felt that this pointed out the 'good' bits of dark topics, which is what it was supposed to do contest wise. This was quite a dark and somewhat black comedy type piece. The last line summed up the tone of the piece. The title was pretty controversial, which is good in this contest. Good luck
