Then I remember...

Down a path of right or wrong
There lies a great big choice
The wrong path looks oh so great,
But then I hear your voice.

Down the path of right or wrong,
A straight line you must take,
Down the path that you know is right,
Even if it only brings on pain.

Your always there to give advice,
When I need it the most,
Teaching me to keep my mouth closed,
And in science class to stay awake.

You've gave me strength through hard times,
Taught me to move on.
I've learned to let old friends go,
For they just hang on imperfection.

You've taught me more than you know,
No textbook or chalkboard could teach,
How to deal with loss
Or turn my anger into stories.

You have kept me alive,
That I must say is so.
But at least I know
That you can never, ever go.

The night cries out through the window,
Pounding on my door.
I start to believe you'll be here,
To help me once more.

But then I realize
With a flash of reality,
You are just a figment of my imagination,
and were never here at all.

Author notes

I think the explanation for this one is one of my story characters for like.. two years now. I think he's my conscience speaking for what I'm not able to think. But whatever, i'll take it.
God.. I need a psychiatrist...

And I chose number one.
He.. or it.. is my hero. But lets just go with he =]

    Interesting

I liked this, I'd really like to know who this character is that lives in your mind, and it doesn't make you crazy because you realize that he isn't real. I, too, have a character like that, someone that I build good qualities and morality on and it does help to keep you grounded. I really liked this, maybe you could tell me about him sometime, I'm intrigued.
Thanks for entering and making me feel less alone for having characters live on in my mind,
    Elisa
