Faces in the window.....

One afternoon, couching by the fire,
I had not else  to do,
So then I joyed myself,
By watching the faces in a window.

First saw I the face,
Of one so innocent of a child,
Face of someone ,
Who had nothing to hide.

Came then the view of a face,
Of a playful one,
Careless of his duties,
And work undone.

Came next the face ,
Savored in anger,
Much that he saw nothing,
Else than the hard stalk of a feather.

Then saw I the face of  one,
Lost in love’s abyss,
Darkened in life,
Scared of innocent bliss.

Oh then the face,
Which broke others hearts,
With misunderstood rage
And  fearful rage.

Finally I saw the sign of one,
Yearning for love and care,
In a very confused state,
With his mind terribly bare.

Then I realized,
With a sudden shiver,
Oh My lord! Bless me,
It wasn’t a window but a mirror!

I like the ending a lot. And the words you used to describe each feelings. The stanzas were well placed and I like how you didn't rhyme every line.
