Once before, your proximity startled me;
your voice baffled me.
Once before, your eyes scared me;
your hands I feared.
Once before, your touch was far fetched;
your company far afield.
If this is treason,
then let me die in saying this;
I love the sweet serenity of your voice,
I long for your closeness,
I need your presence.
That your eyes are fire,
burning, yet giving pleasure,
is not news.
That your touch kindles my heart
aglow with embers of live coal,
melting me.
That your voice
is my music
Your closeness
my craving.
Your touch
the one desire
Your face,
the one picture on the wall of my heart.
Yours is the love I desire
If not yours,
whose can I desire?
OGENE.
