Believing God’s kindness would carry you home.
With tearful goodbyes we kissed your sweet face,
Then gently He lifted you from our embrace.
(chorus)
Held in His arms
Held in His arms
You shine with His radiant grace.
Held in His arms
Held in His arms
You rest in His tender embrace.
With broken hearts we laid you to rest,
Clothed in love and hopefulness.
Friends and family gathered to grieve,
Soothing sorrow with this belief:
(repeat chorus)
Though your motherly touch we cannot replace,
We trust in God’s mercy and infinite grace.
We know your soul lives in the light of the Son,
And rests in the arms of His love.
(repeat chorus)
Joyce Josephson

Wonderful song! I would, in fact be glad to put music to it on the piano...that is if you haven't already, in which case I would love to learn it

Thank you for your dedication.

I have music "in my head" for it. I began to work with someone on it, but he lost interest.
I sing, but I can't write music, and can't really read it either. Since I have a melody in my head, you could probably pluck out an even better one for it.
So yes, I would LOVE for you to put music to it. Have you composed much? Even if not, give it a try, then Im me. We'll take it from there. I wrote lyrics for a few songs, which are on here. Then I just started writing poetry, because I lost my collaborator. -
-
(sorry about the delayed response...)
I just now got around to working on the book itself...so I will try and compose music for it and then post a video of myself playing it to see what you think
Many blessings,
Raymond

Beautiful and sad.
I find it wonderful that you can write about your mother. I know how hard it is to get past your parents death. You did a beautiful job on this piece.
-
This really is a touching write. You have penned beautiful words in remembrance of your mother

Beautiful
This is so well writen, so moving. So many poems I've read on this site show anger towards parents and people of influence, but it's beautiful that you have treasured you mum so much. I am deeply sorry for your loss, but I wanted to say also how wonderful it was you managed to keep your faith so strong throughout this difficult time. I lost my Dad when I was 10 and I know my faith was really put to the test back then, but it's wonderful knowing they're safe with God now.
Thankyou so much for sharing, and good luck =]

What a loving and very moving poem.
Giving peace and strength to others
going through this same sadness.
Wonderful words soothing the heart.
Very nice!

A Good Composition...
Let alone a great personal message on it being your mom. I can't find anything wrong with this as a write.
It may be unnecessary to write the full chorus every time you want the reader to know when it's to be sung. Suggest just a "Repeat Chorus".
Thanks! "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints."--Psalm 116:15

Again, many thanks.

Good Job
This is a beautiful poem! I love how you structured it, and how it is just full of your faith! Thanks so much for entering it in my contest, good job, and good luck! -
Wonderful! This is such a beautiful poem, full of love and true faith. A truly excellent read! I love the flow, rhym and rhythm of this and the way you repeated that 2nd stanza, like a chorus in a hymn.
A most soothing, gentle and touching write. I wish you all the best in this contest
