Linda, you just know when you hear those words
over the line the next ten minutes of your life
is possessed by a telemarketer... I find telling
them that my dog just got ran over by a telemarketer
on his/her way to work this morning usually shuts
them up!! Good one my funny friend!!!

YES!! How true!
YEP!! And when somebody asks you that on the phone... who is a stranger... there should be a really terrible thing to say to them. Like "I charge $50 for my time so if you wish to talk to me, you will have to send payment, first." I said that to a salesman once and he said nobody ever said that to him before and he didn't know what to do. 
So he just left.
HAHAHAHA!!! Cool line here and oh my gosh!!

How are you today?
Ah, didn't get it until I read the title of the contest. Do you tell people you were doing just fine until the damn phone rang? 
Do you say, "do you really want to know?" One of those questions that most people don't really mean, it's just a ritual of politeness, but they don't really want to know how you are, or they just want to hear that you are good and go on with their agenda. Is this the one you wrote about?

Strangest thing...they hung up on me
Did you know they also have computer generated kinda calls that hang up on you but are done to test when your number is most likely to be answered so a human rings back same time next day.
