A silver plated dream gave way unto a sea of Gold
T’was not the way I thought I’d see or I had been told
Walked softly upon stony ground and never mind the cold
The arches lead to somewhere now see your dream unfold
The wooden floorboards shifted beneath my unclothed feet
And darkness faded gently and the light to greet
A soft morning sunrise lighting up just like a sheet
The silence into birdsong your soul now to treat
Held back by centuries of praising in my church
I stumbled silently and did fall and I did lurch
The stone did change to trees of oak and of birch
Say goodbye to old and hello and what I want of much
Light burst into my consciousness as I had never seen
I don’t know where I’m going but I know where I’ve been
I never stopped to question myself what it all might mean
Was my soul now worthy or was I still unclean?
I’m an Angel I know and all that glitters is gold
And I’m guarding the archway to heaven
Falling silently now into a sea of pure gold
And I’m dying softly, flying to heaven
