Confined to a decrepit bed
In a forgotten garden walled by stone
No one left to haunt the hallowed ground
For uncommitted sins the land atones
Death and decay reign inside
Neglect and harsh elements have taken their toll
Colors are drained,beauty is lost
With no one left to console
Yet we see in one corner
Through the weeds and thistle
Tender green sprouts fighting for life
Encouraged by a tiny birds whistle
These rebels in a world so harsh
Grow stronger and stronger each day
Taking over one another
Some smothered, some live to see another day
The ones that are left
Are hopelessly entwined
With no one to lovingly tend
Their fate depends on will undefined
One corner now bursts with color
Wild and free they did come alive
Their future undetermined
But for now they strive
Author notes
Hey,I'm 13 years old and live in a hicktown with nothing to do so I turn to writing. For me this prompt can represent many things, and even though I still went with the rose theme,I hope you all see that their is a hidden message in there.
