you tell me i won't fit in
because of the way i dress and act
you say i won't have any friends
if i don't at least make an effort
but why would i want to....
i'm not gonna dye my hair bleach blonde
or say "oh my god" every five seconds
i'm not gonna stuff my bra
just so guys will date me for my chest size
i'm not gonna wear a miniskirt in february
to show off an ass that i don't have
my parents aren't going to buy me a 400 dollar bag
just so i can show off and say i have something name-brand
i don't skip meals or make myself throw up
so that i can look good in a bathing suit
the way people in this society think
is extremely screwed up
and if that's what it takes to fit in
then you can count me out
i'll keep my hair the same color it was when i was born
i'm going to talk like a normal human being
i'm happy with my small boobs and don't care if men like them
i'll dress accordingly for the month and season
i'll carry around a 20 dollar purse that'll suit me just fine
i'm gonna eat junk food and keep it all down
this is the way i am
if you don't like it
well, you'll live

this poem is sooooooooooooooooooooo awesome, u are so right, lots of girls get rejected b-cuz their not " perfect" because their not sterotypically pretty, but u shouldn't have to be that way, u can be who u want and not caree what other ppl think of u, cuz all of us are beautiful in our own way =)

but about the poem, it was a little ... how to say it... confusing. it didn't really have a rhythm or flow to well. but still a great topic and definitely something that needed to be said. great job!

Society is ruled by those who think they are better than everyone else. They set the standards and look down on those who fall short. I'm glad to see that there are more people out there who are proud to fall short of that standard. Two thumbs up for that one. I like this poem, it was straight to the point and you went out and said what you have to say. I really enjoyed the cynical tone, well done!

well...im happy to know that you're not one of those ppl that thinks society has ppl a certin way. ya know? society....in itself, consists of people. and when ppl do stupid things, like what you DONT do, then it makes a society full of ignorance, arrogance, and well...stupidity. its a shame that this society - as well many others - have turned into FAKENESS of all angles and directions. i think our SOCITEY, needs more ppl like you and me. great write.
