By You I Stand {Gold}

Today I'm sending words of love,
flying in on wings of a dove.
They're sent for you and your belove,
from up above, from up above.

With faith in God you can't go wrong,
his words to you come in a song.
He'll be home with you before long,
please be strong, please be strong.

Angels are sent to watch o'er him,
this was not done on just a whim.
Filled with so much vigor and vim,
right to the brim, right to the brim.

Life doesn't always go as planned,
its scheme we find is very grand.
And as I'm reaching out my hand,
by you I stand, by you I stand.

~Dee, my thoughts and prayers are with you and Sal~

Dee, This is for you and Sal, I hope my words will be of some comfort.

Monotetra

The monotetra is a poem written in quatrains,
with each line in tetrameter and each stanza is
monorhymed (thus the name, monotetra).
The other requirement of the form is that
the fourth line of each stanza is
a repeated dimeter phrase,
giving the poem a very songlike quality.

I just wanted to come read again the beautiful poem which won the Gold trophy in the contest for me. More importantly than the trophy is the loving sentiments expressed for Sal and I. He's doing well, can remove the brace for a few minutes at a time during the day now, but has to still be very careful and sort of still while it's off.

    Congratulations on the gold win

    Love and
    Dee

Dee, Thank you so very much for stopping back again to congratulate me. I wish I could have done more. I spent 13 weeks in a hard collar 24/7 after neck surgery and it's not fun. I'm happy to hear he is progressing. Tell him to go as slow as they say. It is important and no lifting. You are both in my thoughts and prayers each day. Love and z for both of you. Joyce

Lilac, Thank you so very much for the applauses and your loving words. Dee is a beautiful woman who has come into my life via AP and I am blessed for that. To know that she or her husband Sal are hurting in any way is so hard. Your thoughts by hosting such a contest show the love and support that is within our AP family and friends. Thank you for hosting and for the sparkling new gold trophy that is now sitting atop the mantle on my home page. This was a joy for me to write for Dee and Sal. Love and God bless, Joyce

Oh, I know Dee and know other poets who know her, but had no idea she is going through hard times
I sincerely hope that everything comes good to Sal and that he recovers 100% of his injures. May God be with them and give strength to Dee in this such difficult time.
Your poem to her is lovely and show a wonderful support.

    spiritual gentleness

Spiritual was this poem as its gentle repetitive flow,
soothing and prayerful ,; said with a heart that knows.
It flowed like a little brook that sings a cradling song..lovely is what it was ..

Liz, Thank you as always for your lovely words. I had only done one of these previously after Pam introduced it to me and I was fortunate enough to receive a gold on that one. This is more for my heartfelt thoughts going out to Dee and Sal. I'm very happy that you enjoyed this and you don't have to ask if I mind you writing in this as Dee needs all the best wishes she can receive at this time. I will have to take a look at your entry as well. Love and God bless, Joyce

This is such a wonderful poem, Joyce. I can't begin to thank you and all the others for such an outpouring of love and concern for both of us. Your poem here is a reflection of your beauty as a person and poetess. It's really quite a lovely piece

Sal is home from the hospital, but goes to see the neurosurgeon tomorrow to see how everything is progressing and whether or not he'll need surgery. He seems to be doing well, but there's a tiny bone fragment floating around in there and also they'll make sure the inner bleeding has stopped and has not formed blood a clot inside his spinal column, which could lead to pressure on the spinal cord.

Thank you, my friend for this lovely uplifting poem

Dee, Thank you for the applauses and the lovely words to me. Most of all thank you for letting me know what is going on. I know the pain and worry this causes. My family all waited worrying when my niece was in a severe accident in January of 2005. She had a fracture in two places on her spinal vertebra at the base of the skull and bleeding on the brain. The doctor said she came so close to being paralyzed for life and her biggest worry at the time it happened was she would miss basketball playoffs. She is now in her second year of college where she is studying to be a teacher. She knows that He was watching over her and that is why she is still here to do all the good she will do in this world. I'm very happy that my words were uplifting to you and I will keep both of you in my thoughts and prayers. Much love for both of you. God bless you both today and always. Joyce
