Hebrews 11:1

Hebrews 11:1

Faith is the substance of things hoped for
the light of the Lord that opens the door
Revealing the light of heaven serene
the evidence of things not seen

My God has revealed the evidence
His glorious power with consequence

Healing me and making me clean
the evidence of things not seen

Faith in Christ without reservation
relieved the pain of my aberration
So open His book to see what I mean
the evidence of things not seen

Faith is the substance of things hoped for
the evidence of things not seen

A Kyrielle Sonnet consists of 14 lines (three rhyming quatrain stanzas and a non-rhyming couplet). Just like the traditional Kyrielle poem, the Kyrielle Sonnet also has a repeating line or phrase as a refrain (usually appearing as the last line of each stanza). Each line within the Kyrielle Sonnet consists of only eight syllables. French poetry forms have a tendency to link back to the beginning of the poem, so common practice is to use the first and last line of the first quatrain as the ending couplet. This would also re-enforce the refrain within the poem. Therefore, a good rhyming scheme
for a Kyrielle Sonnet would be:

AabB, ccbB, ddbB, AB -or- AbaB, cbcB, dbdB, AB

dedicated to: F.M.E. and K.R-D.

Lovely! I love the text, and I like what you did with it.
Here are a couple of possible type-o's I noticed:
S1, L3: "Reveling the light of heaven serene" Did you mean "revealing the light..."?
S3, L2: "releaved the pain of my aberration" Shouldn't that be "relieved the pain...:?
  • beautiful Amera I love this it is so light yet strong ! Great write on the verse.

    Wonderful work ...

inspired by Divine words. And yes -- one does not need a Muse with the Bible at hand.

    Congratulations on your gold!

This is lovely. The combination of forms are stunning in the impact it creates, very simple elegant. The breath of this write is far more then words. Faith is not an easy word to write about. You have given it deep and a feeling of substance. I truly love it from start to finish. This is a wonderful tribute to faith. We sometimes forget it in todays world. Great job with this write.

The more I read something from you,
The more I become aware of the talent you posess.
I can't really say much about the content of this poem.
I can't say if I believe it or not; if I agree with it or not; if my own views are different or not.
    I just cannot say.
Simply because I don't know where I stand.
But I do respect your views.
I'm just wondering on the syllable count..
Either I'm counting all wrong, or maybe you've played with the syllable count a bit.
It could be the former seeing how strained I feel at the moment.
I can't even get my thoughts straight.
What I really really like is how those two lines in the end came together so perfectly...
    It's simply beautiful.
    Keep it all up

    Love ya,

very elegant. You write it in the same serenity that goes within the bible itself. You use majestic terms and hopeful phrases that add up to a magnificent poem.

In particular, i liked the repetition of the quoted verse. Through each stanza, problems are washed clean and with simple repeating the troubles of the world vanish. It is remarkable how you can change such a small quote into something so meaningful and applicant.

i have no quarrels with poem and if I did i would pretend i didn't so i may keep the poem as is. It remains perfect as it is, leaving me mystified at your talent. Thank you for entering, I enjoyed it immensely.

Very lovely indeed, not just the poem, but also the way it is presented. (I stole your background, but let me know if you want it back )

You have given such a beautiful version of how you read your chosen verse. Coupling it with the breathtaking form of the Kyrielle Sonnet, it is even more lovely.

Thank you so much for entering and good luck in the contest. Hugs, Patricia

    An important message

Thank you for reviving this Scripture to me today. Faith is such an incredible miracle.

I think perhaps the poem would read better without the "iths" simply because of the antiquated language. If you do leave this language, I think you need to change the iths to eths.....do you mean reveal or revile in line 7?

This is a very enjoyable kyrielle!
