Here was a classic man, a throwback
a character out of a Steinbeck novel.
It was not out of his character
to find him enduring as a great man might.
His Father had died, a rite had passed.
He found himself heading to a brothel.
He had not cried over his Father
there was a sad unresolved enmity there
lost to eternity now.
A hired woman would soothe his raw spirit
and ease this profound tension in his soul.
He was not ready for the exquisitely beautiful woman;
the woman he had been given for the night.
Her face and eyes were stunning, her lips full and pouted,
her gaze stopped him in mid thought.
Once alone with her in bed, her beauty became a trap.
It invited him to see into her warm and caring person.
He soon found himself sobbing into her bare bosom
while she held him tenderly.
She begged him to come back, he promised he would,
but as he left he realized, he had gotten more than he had paid for.

You have quite the talent for bringing eloquence and a bit of a traditional feeling, like a classic writer, to your poetry. I think the word "bosom" in all honesty was one that jumped out at me in this piece as most may have toyed with the word "breasts" in that line with a more contemporary tone.
At any rate, it's another well written poem by you that pulls the reader fully into the story being told - and you tell it so well!

Truly you can look at a simple situation and turn it into something that a reader can take away a profound feeling of knowing more than when they first looked at it. Beautiful as you do and softly as you go

Beautiful & profound, my Friend. There's only so much a human being CAN endure...& when we find empathy in another, it finally sets us free...Good luck in Mary's contest.
