"I did not die, I did not go,
You will find me in the afterglow.
Do not grieve for John Adair
For I am standing by your chair.
In the morning`s light of sun
That is when I will first come.
To guide your footsteps through the hours
Of hail and sunshine, summer showers.
Then when at night lay down your head
I will be watching by your bed.
Grieve not for me, I have not gone,
Your ever loving sweetheart John."

Awww this is so sweet. I think it would be very comforting for the lover left behind.
-
Catchy well calibrated meter in rhymic verse in this.Beats and flows smoothly along.

A touching, tender but overall uplifting poignancy to this piece of poetry, the first three lines stand alone as a comforting mantra and the afterglow creates a warmth and the feeling of the love lingering, which indeed it does, good luck in the contest

Very touching and words I can relate to, as I often feel my late parents are around, especially in times of trouble. I'm tempted to have a go at this contest myself. Well done on your great entry. It brought tears to my eyes.
