I am the world’s EVILEST super villain,
When something goes wrong, I’m to blame,
I’m always one step ahead of you,
Waiting to spoil your game.
I’ll arrive in your life by the side door,
Journeyed in my invisible car,
I’ll give you a cold that is merely a nuisance,
Or bad itch that stretches too far,
I’ll slowly deflate your football,
Loosen the screws on your shelves,
For little annoyances add up,
Though they’re no big deal in themselves.
I’ll ensure your shoelace always untie,
And you’re frequently late for the train,
When at last you arrive at the seaside,
The sunshine will turn to rain.
Your schoolbooks drop in a puddle,
Your toast lands butter-side down,
You bang your knee on the table,
Your smile turns to a frown.
Your friends don’t invite you to parties,
Because you moan mornin’ till night,
Listen, you whinge, it’s not my fault,
That nothing ever goes right.
So will you ever dare to meet me?
Face to face? Eye to eye? Well you can,
For I’m hiding in your reflection,
And my name is the Mirror Man.
