Why do I Write?

I am often asked why do I write poetry?I wonder if the answer I respond with should be from Shakespear or should I just remark with the simple reason why. I usually just tell them why I pen it is part of who I am it is as natural to me as waking up and taking my first breath.I dont see myself as a skilled writer there never rhyme to what I write but there is a reason to what flows onto the blank paper and sometimes in the end someone else reads and understands the reason and then the circle is completed for that write.I write on many different reasons sometimes over happiness, sometimes over tears, sometimes over a thought over a moment I dont put myself in a box I write for what I want to express for that moment. I do not see myself putting down my pen because my pen is part of who I am.

Please tell me what you think

I write so that I can remember the moment, the emotion and the feeling. Basically, I see you do the same the thing. Write on Poet, write on.

    Sincerely,

Good reasoning here. I don't think you should ever put down your pen if that is who you are. Everyone has different ways and means to express themselves.
A shortened answer to the question which people ask you about why you write poetry is... because I can.

I think that without writers and writing the world would be a much duller place.

    I liked this.
    Thankyou for sharing.
    Well done.

    My dear friend

Your words ring true for me as well. i write to get feelings outside of me, that want to burst out. If ones enjoy I am more than happy, but if perchance they find it displeasing, go on read another one of mine or another one of another poet. Reading Shaksphere, at times, it appears he was drunk with wine , as he rambles on and on.But we still find some morsel of like there.

Cheers to that, i can't say thats its as natural to me as breathing, but we all started to write for our on reasons and we do it for them still. Fer me, i'm just a flamboyant nerd with a cerative imagination and nowhere else to put it.
keep on writing and good luck in the future.
