Oh, did you trip?
So soon?
Come,
Get up and move around.
That'll take the sting of
Rejection out of your bones.
O.K, now rest,
But only for a time.
There are people to
Look in the eyes of.
There are responses
To pick up on,
And you must carry
A few folks on down the path.
Don't be anxious,
There's too much at stake.
So, quit all your ticks
And smooth out your face.
After all,
They're only tricks of the mind,
And you're supposed to be stronger.
You were supposed to be smarter!
We thought you had gaul.
We thought you were independent.
Well, I guess, we thought wrong.
How can you fail so?
No, no,
It's alright.
Just pick yourself up.
Here, you got something
On your back.
Let me get it off.
It looks like pride.
That won't do,
We'll have to shove that aside.
O.K, now,
Quit all your ticks,
And smooth out your face
After all,
They're only tricks of the mind,
And we have too far to go
for you to get in our way.

Oh, I really liked this. It was kind of confusing at first but then I read it again and enjoyed it better the second time. Thanks for entering and good luck!!
