Hmmmmmmm

Miniatures frolic in a glass cage.
These pet people suffer many a drama, sorrow, joy-
yet are easily vanished.

Ladies spend their days as men,
clad in split skirts and boots and-
I think they’ve been careless with the scissors.

An infant screams and crawls,
mother wandering unlovingly by,
a metallic matchbox held to her ear.

A girl strokes her hair with two slabs of metal and
scented mist rises.
She smiles, her head a-swirl with steam.

Author notes

Ok, the point competition thing is off now. Now for the explanation: I live in a very old house. It's over 100 years old. Sometimes I sit there and think about what the people who lived in it when it was first built would think if they came back now. This is from the voice of one of those people if they were in that situation. The first stanza is about a TV, the second about how women might not dress with such femininity, the third about how a mother is too preoccupied to deal with her child (whereas 100 years ago a womens main roll was the maternal one) and the fourth is about a girl using an electric appliance to straighten her hair. It's not finish yet but thanks for reading. xXxXx

    Oooh that is SO cool
I love to imagine what other people in olden times would make of this era. Haha, you captured it perfectly, or at least I imagine you have - you can never really know. But I do love this, the way you've put it.. perfect. Did you call me the other day btw? lol, i've got a missed call from you on my phone but I wasn't in the room. Lemme know. LOVE the poem x x x x
