If one could walk on water
the entranceway
would be much like this,
a testament to the heavens
as they took on the impossible
walking through a blending of what
God and men have wrought
the canopy of trees
and the stone columned arches
stretching beyond beauty
to absolute astonishment
Where are the prophets
and the miracle workers of old
in these our days of sorrow?
Passing through immaculate temples
to bend nature into holiness,
The sun sets on dying
and crying everywhere
but yet breathtaking panoramas
haunt us with what could be
a perfect world,
small tastes of the heavens
granted to besieged man.
if I had the power to be
blessed with the unattainable
abilities to heal
I would walk across oceans
just touching those in need
and erasing the scars of hate,
and I would begin here
in this hallowed place,
under the eyes of the world
as they watched in awe,
the unfolding of the next chapter
in the New Testaments,
alas we are all but mortal
and we only have grand entrances
and exits before us,
leaving only the time to fill
all that is in between
with love uncompromising.

This is stunning! I'm lapping up those delicious lines: "God and men have wrought the canopy of trees .. etc" Wow! Such vivid imagery but also a strong message within the lines. Mmmmm. Nice one.
