Nanga Parbat, the name spells majesty
Standing proudly above your lesser peers
In a land where mountains are commonplace.
Icy, cold in your burnished sun snow cap.
Born of the collision of continents
Erosion, by storms and ice have reduced
Your once proud towers to a mere 26,500 feet.
Sometimes silent
In the pounding noise
That spells absolute silence.
Roaring in blizzards madness
When your world is a white out.
Rising like Pheonix to look down
On soaring eagles and we mere mortals
Paying homage at your feet.
