I want to make a difference because I believe everyone deserves to live a prosperous and felicitous life. The world can be a difficult place to be raised in, but I believe that we, the inhabitants of this planet, can work together to make it a better place to live. However, it takes a strong, wise leader to rise from the darkness and shine light upon our path. It is for this reason that I want to ascend above the ordinary and take the initiative, to make a difference in this world. I have a vision of a better tomorrow and want to help make it become reality.
All my life, I have lived in poverty. Thousands of Americans, and millions around the world, have felt and still feel my pain. I want this to change. Though living in Utopia may be an unrealistic proposition, I believe that we can make existence better for those less fortunate than ourselves. More programs such as The Samaritan’s Purse, the charitable Christian organization run by Reverend Franklin Graham, could make life better for thousands, if not millions, of people worldwide. I want nothing more than to make life better for myself, my family, my friends, and others. To improve morale is my cause, but to spread joy and peace is my passion.
Another way that I hope to make a difference is proving that politics does not have to involve lies and verbal attacks. The number-one problem with the American government these days is the fact that candidates feel they must exhume and tell the voting public falsities about their adversaries. We must permanently improve the way that politicians campaign. What we must do to win this battle is prove that these tactics are not necessary to win elections. I believe that nothing stands between us citizens and the goal of removing the hatred from political campaigning.
Lastly, and more than anything else, I want to make a difference to create a healthy environment for our posterity. I have two nieces and do not want them to have to face worse conditions of living than I have experienced. I want to make the country a safer place to reside in. I want the next generation to live better than our generation could have ever imagined. If we all work harder to eliminate racism and discrimination, battle crime and violence more ferociously, and restore a high level of morals and values, then we will be well on our way to becoming a more respectable and prosperous country. Then, by spreading our cause on a larger scale, we could plant the seed of reform in other nations, leading them along our path. I believe that America can be that light in the darkness for the rest of the world, and that I can be the spark which lights the flame. I do not see my glass as half full on this subject, but I envision a glass that is filled to the brim and overflowing.
