My Guardian Angel

I could have sworn I saw an angel,
Smiling down upon me from the sky.
The friendly face was so familiar,
That happy twinkle in her eye…
She left us for a higher calling,
But that thought alone can not fill the abyss
Of the burdened minds, the broken hearts…
She has risen above this place to bliss.
As she watches over us day by day,
We must keep our heads held high.
She would want us to carry on for her,
Not mope around and sulk and cry.
So, when life is crushing down on me
And my future seems unclear,
I can rely on my guardian angel
To come and wipe away the tears.
