The Rising Sun

The sun rises over the glistening white peaks of Everest...
An eagle flies over those peaks,
And you see that the world truly is blest,
As the sky explodes into a dazzling spectacle of color!

Then it rises over the vast blue ocean...
It lights up the sea floor, and, festooned among the coral, there are crosses -
Ruins of a submerged cemetary - and so you spot a shred of hope,
You see God's eternal plan; and a testament of life's power over death!

Then the sun breaks and shines through the impenatrable canopy of an enchanted forest,
You look around and see nature unshadowed!
The sun illuminates the trees, the flowers - yet Behold!
Behold, for your beauty surpasses all these...
Behold - you are a person, and that which makes you beautiful is Love!

So do not lose hope!
Instead, look around the illuminated world,
And see that there is much more to life,
Than darkness and death!
