Hope’s New Spring

Faces:             paintings

Michelangelo, Renoir, Dali

Faces:             mirrors

Clear.     Skewed.     Clearly distorted.

Whose opinion:

                Maker or looker?

Soul’s windows

set in an ever changing
pliable, workable, sculptable clay.

Does the sculptor understand?
          The looker see?

Faces:

The truth.

Whose truth?

What truth?

Knowable?
Decipherable?
Interpretation.

The Magi understands
everyday people struggle

distorted selves,

true selves,

other selves.

Emerging.

Distortion evolves             Vision evolves

Increases                           Decreases

            Cycles circle indefinitely.

Clearly, yes clearly
we see our selves with practiced blindness.

Seek the window in a mirror
sweep away
that to which we need not see

and Look. And see. And paint.

This the sunshine, a drop of rain
        to springs new hope.

a very creative and colorful verse, filled with wisdom, compassion and hope ... another transformational verse I have discovered in this contest ... dealing with the prompt of "fortune and glory" in an unusual and refreshing manner ...

    another masterpiece !

I don't believe there is another way this could have been written to give more impact to these thoughts
expounded upon; answers glimpsed or guessed; and
hope birthed at the end. We will never hold the true
picture of all things; that is only more true of ourselves. The fortunes we seek, the glory we search for may speak more loudly of who we are then our mirrored images or personas we believe are the inner
"true self". Art is beautiful because it tends to speak in truths and is bared for all to see.
An exceptional piece that is worth rereading many
times over. Thank-you for encouraging others. Blue

Talk about a mind blowing poem! There is so much truth in your words... We will never get anything accomplished if we keep hiding ourselves behind our ficticious self created smoke-screens... We do it because we are to afraid to expose our vulnerabilities... We are all more alike than we are different but it is our differences that are accentuated with does nothing to foster community... We can be an individual and still share the common bonds of humanity... (IMHO) (Yet another spectacular BG!!! Wow!)

at first i found the poem fragmented and disjointed but then i started to understand it and by the end of the poem feel the form added to the way it was written a totally oppisite twist than what i thought from the begining ...much good i have found between the drifting falling pieces of your poem that lay spread out in their pattern on my table. thank you

Intriguing train of thought made into beautiful poetry. It begins with confusion, almost, and ends with amazing hope. Nice use of powerful questions.

    Thanks for entering!

Ahhh, Poet...This is such an intelligent, intriguing penning, my Friend...The only Truth we must learn is evolution...we must continue to change or become stagnate...we must constantly re~invent our Selves if we are to learn anything about the reasons we are here...our purpose for Being...This is a wonderful piece, Poet...Good luck in the contest, Sweetie... you are right the only real self truth is today's truth. and we as a people have an obligation to show that truth to the world around us as bast we can
it is idealistic but the world would be a better place

    Brilliant! Standing in Applause

We see ourselves with practiced blindness.

    WOW.
If that isn't a truth I don't know what is. What a wonderful statement. I know your last piece was brilliant but this, my friend, this is superb.

True magic from an artist eye shall reach a canvas or a page when brilliance beams from inner self.

    Jaw dropping awe!

MORE MORE MORE MORE MORE MORE MORE. I love nothing better than to read exceptional poetry. ~Pamela
