(black is) the absence of light

mortality spills quickly, spills over
la taza se ejecuta concluídio

she has broken everything
disguised in the colors of softness
breasts sweet with poison -
twin red orbs - like biblical fruits -
tripping over quandries made real
by the faces of shrouded demons
who huddle in the absence of light

soon, we might escape them
prying into roots, and finger slime,
caped and hooded
as they dance around us, captive
in this rayless place
stealing our light, our selfness
as we pretend not to notice

fortressed in, we see rojo sol
delante de razón -
and trees along a barren street
their branches thinned, as if
strongly backlit – their crowns of dead leaves
etherealized by strange semaphores
and fractal edges

could this be daylight? or
black sky spangled without stars
unpainted like the symbols
on a topographical map, an impossible
actuallity that hints at spiritual energy, and
ominous subconsious urges, coming
apart in a dream

and all that hunger
            turned to nothing

"Where is the light?" he asked.
"It is all around you," she said,"but you do not perceive it with your mind all jumbled like it is."
"What do I need to do to see it?" he queried.
"Close your eyes," she said. "Take a deep breath and think of nothing. When you can focus on the emptiness without another thought crashing in, then you can open them and see what you are missing..."

I liked the line "black sky spangled without stars" and the one about them stealing our selfness. Congrats on the trophy! This was rather different for you. I'm glad it worked for the judge.
