Take this hand that’s gnarled and calloused
Let me lead you from the light
And I will show to you the dark side
Where we dwell twixt day and night
Imagine if you will a cruise ship
You on deck or cabin royal
There enjoy what life has brought you
We below decks work and toil
So it is in life you live
That just surface you can see
But far below we live in twilight
Ghost and demons feast on me
You at night will go to sleep
On feathered pillow rest your head
To wake refreshed on morning’s chorus
We toil through as living dead
To live within unending darkness
No variances to our day
No structure to define the hours
We are forced to slave away
Time to us just has no meaning
No day or night or months or years
Just the constant screams of terror
Where we dwell amidst our fears
Although you say you want to see
Where hell is life and life is hell
I say to thee be wary for
It is not pleasant here to dwell
To live a life in constant torment
Demons rive and tear at flesh
Maniacal screams of laughter
As in pain you writhe and thresh
Taken by the hordes of creatures
Which abuse your worthless soul
Forced to do as they command
When all your being they control
All this adds to twist your mind
That you will gnaw away inside
And evermore tormented by
The thought that you wish you had died
But here we never do expire
Now forever here must dwell
In this place of ghosts and demons
In this place a living hell
So do not seek to find the knowledge
Of the dark side yet again
For once you find yourself within
Then here in turmoil you remain

Lovely use of literature
This poem felt very mythological and i felt i was taken into another world while reading it. Beautiful use of words yet a very dark and eerie insight into who was experiencing it. I think it tells the story of how someone lives a very fortunate life and when she/he goes to sleep they wake up to a living hell where they experience something they never have before...This poem is really really good, best i've read on here for sure.
