The road ahead for now is dark
By walls that do exude the night
But in the not too distant future
Lays a path of golden light
This picture really shows the life
That I for now am living through
For with fiancé overseas
There is not much that I can do
Two years must pass until the day
That I can fly to be with her
To lay forever in her arms
The time between a hazy blur
But really life is not that bad
For though the darkness fills my days
The road ahead is straight and true
And leads me through this misty haze
The walls that pen me to this path
And so prevent the light today
Can keep me focussed on the future
With her love to guide my way
And soon ahead I see the light
When she and I will be as one
Together with her children of
Three daughters and a baby son
When all the world will be our oyster
No more walls to pen us in
Joined together as a family
When true love can then begin
‘til then I tread this darkened path
With quickened pace for I can see
The golden path two years ahead
That writes of love and waits for me
