When we were young

When we were young,
When our paths were one,
When we danced to the beat,
Of our own private drum,
We smiled and prayed,
And had faith in all things,
And we never thought,
Things could possibly change.

When we grew up,
And our hearts grew cold,
We started to want,
To become instantly old,
We started to separate,
We started to run,
We forgot what it was like,
To simply have fun.

    Wow

It is such a brilliant piece.. Especially the rhyme but other wise it is a brilliant poem and very touching.. And it is tru that as we grew older we forget how to simply have fun..

Wow. I really liked this. I wish I could say I relate to this, but I have never gotten along with my sisters. I have never had fun with them. It sucks that ya'll seperated. I hope everything works out alright, and that you two will become close again
