My precious Goddess,
the porcelain face you wear
cannot mask what lies beneath.
Outside – beautiful…
You heart and soul – grotesque!
My sweet Goddess of Decay

All that glisters is not gold. A very real message coming through your words. Truthful, with a personal touch. Thanks for entering.

To me this speaks of many people I have met in my lifetime. It tends to be that the prettier on the outside, the uglier on the inside. There are a few rare exceptions though and those are the ones worthy of a lil bit of attention. A very truthful write.

Thank you so much, and I agree about the fact that the exceptions deserve some attention

Cool!
I would be interested in what or who inspired this poem. I know with my own there is always a trigger. I like it in its simplicity. You did good. This would even make a good long poem. It begs the question of the influence. I think, judging my the title, what you are refering to. I like it. Good job!

This wasn't inspired by anyone in particular, more as a general "Why are people all such hypocrites?!?" kind of feeling I was having at the time. I have a longer poem, Hidden Idenity, that adresses a similar topic. Thank you for your comment, I'm glad you enjoyed the read.

LOL...I like the irony in this poem. It's a great poem and well-written. Good job!

Thanks, I'm glad you liked it. I'm experimenting with this new form and I've got to say, I really like it. I hope I haven't slaughtered the form though
