An angel stands beside Sal’s bed and prays
that Sal may gain his strength to win this fight.
Whatever lies ahead, please let him stay;
he’s needed here, he is my love, my knight.
I know he’ll try his best to win this battle;
we have so much to see and do in life
and, if the op they can perform with scalpel,
I’ll be there by his side 'cause I’m his wife.
So please Dear Lord, help them heal my man
and hold his hand so he may know You’re near,
I know the doctors do the best they can
to bring him back to me. I have no fear.
And with us both beside him through the night
he’ll feel the love we send and be all right.

Author notes
I’ve written this as though it was Dee talking
as I know these thoughts would be running
through her mind and I know how I’d feel
if it happened to my man.
My prayers are with Sal and Dee and their family
We have become friends over the last few months
and my heart goes out to her.
It's not an entry, just an expression of my thoughts for Dee and Sal

Expressed so beautifully...
This is absolutely precious and you have felt something of what catz must be feeling herself...I have seen the strength you write about in catz, when I have spoken to her, so I do believe you have captured her true thoughts...thank you for this comforting poem
All the very best

Thank you so much, Joan for this lovely poem. And yes, it does indeed reflect my thoughts and prayers. He's much better now and able to get around but must keep the neck brace on 24/7, taking it off only after his shower to replace it immediately with the a dry one (the pads inside)
He's in good spirits and following doctors orders, surprisingly... you know how these guys can be
Your poem is so uplifting, my friend and much appreciated
love and
Dee

Dear Joan (Bea),
This is a beautiful expression of what I'm sure must be very close to Dee's thoughts at this time.
I am honoured that you have named me as collaborator
as, although the thoughts are entirely yours, I share them fully.
Love and hugs, XXX Hugh.
