A Birthday Maybe

Today was a birth day.
Not just anyone's, but mine
Instead of blowing out candles,
Not even a cake, but it was fine.

Packing and moving,
Cleaning and waiting.
I watched her fluid with grace.
Never once did she seem to notice,
The tears falling down my face.

She gave me the gift of her time,
Something so precious to me
Dissapointed that it wasn't anything else,
I wish I could get her to see.

It was all I ever wanted
Wrapped up in a tight little bow
The laughter the tears the joy
It Was the best that I've ever known.

I've sent her off to bed now
The day's end is almost here.
I felt the need to share this.
With all my friends so dear.

Please tell me what you think

this is a good write. very touching. Some people will never know how just spending time with them is a gift. This is good. Keep up the good work.

Sometimes all we need is a moment with our special ones, a half hour of snuggling and talking, a shared pot of tea and the warmth of intimacy between two close friends.
